Old-fashioned walk-in cooler evaporators are prone to leakage due to the use of aluminum materials, so 50% of the leakage of this type of walk-in cooler refrigeration system is caused by the evaporator. This kind of walk-in cooler has either been eliminated or replaced with a copper tube self-made evaporator, so such evaporators are almost invisible at present. Leak detection is the only way to diagnose whether the evaporator is damaged. The pressing method depends on the type of evaporator. But the pressing pressure is 0.5MPa, and the holding time is 24h. If the pressure gauge value drops, it can be judged that the evaporator is leaking.
(1) Built-in evaporator leak detection, using low pressure leak detection method, that is, walk-in cooler refrigeration system deflation, open the capillary tube, use gas welding to close the capillary tube, use gas welding to close the capillary port, the compressor process tube Blow nitrogen to the low-pressure pipeline to 0.8MPa. After maintaining the pressure for 24 hours, if the pressure gauge value drops, it can be determined that the evaporator is leaking, and the upper and lower evaporators need to be replaced at the same time. Because the connecting nozzles of the upper and lower evaporators are in the walk-in cooler in this way, they cannot be seen, so there is no need to distinguish which evaporator is leaking.
(2) Leak detection of exposed evaporator should adopt low-pressure segmented pressure leak detection method. After the refrigeration system is vented, find the upper and lower evaporator connection nozzles and weld them. Then press the upper and lower evaporators to 0.8MPa respectively according to the direction of the refrigeration pipeline to check for leakage.
